To the first of many Posted on August 17, 2026 Welcome to Cuppa & Craft! I’m just a girl from Yorkshire who loves tea and crafts (you can read more about me here, if you really want too). There’s nothing that soothes my mind more than being in nature or sitting down with a hot cuppa and whatever craft I want to do that day. My current go-to crafts are needle felt and crochet, though I want to practice more knitting and have a go at weaving, and I do a bit of art and DIY here and there. Why a blog? Why not just use social media? Honestly, I hate social media. Cutting social media out of my life was easily one of the best things I’ve done, you don’t realise how much time you waste on those apps, and what for? To feel empty or angry? That’s all they did for me, anyway. I did try Substack for a little while and I quite liked it there, there are some brilliant creatives who use it. However, my time there was short-lived when I realised they blocked messaging due to the UK’s Online Safety Act… apparently. Won’t get into all my thoughts about that here, but needless to say I won’t be sending my ID to any third party companies just to use social media. So I decided, why not just start a website, where I can personalise it how I wish without limitations? And here we are. I know blogging with no social media won’t be easy, though I’m honestly fine talking to myself, I do that most of the time anyway. The plan If you do want to join, my plans are to create a cosy area of the internet featuring: Short stories of the characters I create (which you’re welcome to print and read to your children) Blog and video tutorials so we can make things together A feed where I will post regular smaller updates and shenanigans a few times a week (things that aren’t blog-worthy!) Monthly recap each month which will summarise what I made that month, as well as personal updates and the very important tea recommendation for the month! Creations Here are a few creatures and things I have made, just to give you a taste of what to expect. I’m constantly learning and trying new techniques, but I am very inspired by British wildlife and old-school cartoons (think Farthing Wood and the Moomins). I’m excited for this new venture and I am super appreciative of anyone who joins me. Thanks for reading, and stay crafty (the creative kind!) Blog Posts craftscrochetfeltingfibre artneedle felt
